As a law firm, our expertise is in the legal field and the ability to provide accessible legal services, this is where we view our impact to be of greater benefit to our community.

Tapping on our lawyers’ skill sets and expertise, we provide pro bono legal advice and support to a wide variety of non-profit or charity groups in the community which champion different causes. We strive to maintain lasting relationships with the charitable organisations we work with by offering impactful support to these organisations and their beneficiaries. We commit to regular pro bono legal clinics on a long term basis, and aim to partner organisations in regular community outreach programmes.

We have partnered with organisations such as Pro Bono SG and the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre to provide regular legal clinics to individuals and ground up organisations. We further support non-profit and charity groups to review contracts or agreements, and organising free talks and training sessions.

Our recent initiatives include, and are not limited to, the following:

  • Pro Bono SG, a charity spun off from The Law Society of Singapore that aims to enable access to justice for the vulnerable and disadvantaged through legal awareness, advice and advocacy. Rajah & Tann has consistently been contributing to a range of initiatives organised by Pro Bono SG, which include legal awareness, advice and advocacy programmes. Initiatives have included providing pro bono expertise in talks, literature, legal clinics and targeted community programmes. Rajah & Tann has been recognised by Pro Bono SG as an anchor law firm for its Community Legal Clinics, Youth Community & Legal Clinics and Non-Resident Legal Clinics.
  • Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA), dedicated to catalysing collaborative philanthropy in Asia through dynamic multi-sector partnerships. By harnessing collective strengths, PAA amplifies positive impact and accelerates action to address the pressing environmental and social challenges of our time. Rajah & Tann has signed on as an Advisory Partner of its Amplifier mentorship programme, a 12-month mentorship programme designed to accelerate the growth of impact startups programme. Our commitment to this inspiring initiative is in the provision of vital legal services both pro bono and at subsidised rates.
  • National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, an independent non-profit organisation that focuses on giving in Singapore. Rajah & Tann supports ground up organisations by providing pro bono legal advice through regular clinics to these groups.
  • SG Assist,a social enterprise focused on supporting caregivers and their loved ones through sustainable community-based solutions. Through our partnership, our lawyers helped almost 180 beneficiaries with the setting up of their Lasting Power of Attorney, ensuring that the beneficiaries have the legal protection and support required in their later years.
  • SMU Pro Bono Centre, which centrally manages all pro bono activities of the university. We assisted SMU with its filming project aimed to encourage students to be more engaged in pro bono activities during their studies so they may continue to do so when they enter practice.
  • Fei Yue Community Services, a multi-service social service organisation which provides help and offers services for the very young to the elderly. Our lawyers held legal talks for their senior and middle management staff as well as social service staff, empowering them with the knowledge to carry out their responsibilities more effectively.
